Meet CoinDCX, India’s most preferred crypto investment exchange.

Established in 2018 by Sumit Gupta and Neeraj Khandelwal, CoinDCX is India’s first crypto unicorn with over 1.5 crore registered users. They’re also instrumental in building the broader Web3 ecosystem, having invested in over 15 Web3 projects under CoinDCX ventures.

Despite operating in an extremely volatile and competitive industry, CoinDCX has held fort and built an impenetrable moat.

That moat is their team.

"Our talent philosophy is to build a community of trailblazers. We're building an organization where the brightest minds in the Crypto and Web3 universe converge, driven by a shared ambition to redefine the future of this industry."

– Mudita Chauhan, Chief Human Resource Officer

The team backs this statement. CoinDCX has been a Great Place to Work certified company since 2021, holding the badge for the last four years.

Core to this is their approach to employee wellness.

Insurance, not just healthcare

Most companies today are realising that health benefits do not stop at insurance – we’ve witnessed a 100% surge in fresh companies investing in preventive and primary healthcare in addition to insurance, while more enterprises are allowing employees to choose their benefit plans with flexible policies.

CoinDCX were ahead of the trend.

“Our philosophy transcends traditional benefits programs. We understand that in today’s fast-paced world, true success is fuelled by a holistic approach to health - encompassing physical, mental, and emotional dimensions.”

– Mudita Chauhan, Chief Human Resource Officer

The company’s strategy for employee health allowed us to build a comprehensive employee health benefits plan across primary, preventive, and emergency health.

Emergency health

CoinDCX partnered with Plum to offer comprehensive health, personal accident, and term life insurance. Highlights – covers employees, spouses, upto 2 children and either set of parents, comprehensive maternity coverage, attendant charges, and cover for mental illnesses.

Primary health

CoinDCX employees and their families access over 27 specialist doctors via Plum Telehealth, our primary healthcare initiative.

One in five employees have booked a telehealth consultation, with 40% availing it for a loved one. With dermatologists, pediatricians, and gynecologists being the most common specialties, the average CoinDCX employee has saved around INR 5,000 on consultation charges. They also access Plum's vision and dental packages through the app giving access to some of the best healthcare providers in this space at discounted rates.

In addition, they also partner with Plum to host curated wellness sessions for all their employees every month.

Preventive health

They have deeply discounted annual health check-ups for employees and two of their family members, emphasizing preventive care and early detection of health issues. Additionally, employees can access a variety of discounted benefits through Plum Perks, including brands like Lenskart, Tata1mg, and The Whole Truth.

40% of employees have availed of one of these perks, with discounted medicines being the fan favorite.

"We were specifically looking for an industry expert who could guide us design the most relevant Insurance & Wellness offering for our employees and Plum’s team played that role beautifully - bringing industry best practices and market data that would help us make the right decision."

– Alan Fernandes, Director of HR Operations, CoinDCX.

However, the best benefits don’t matter unless the experience doesn’t match quality.

The unification of employee health

When we published the State of Employee Benefits 2024, we observed a veritable shift towards unified healthcare experiences. Both employees and people leaders weren’t happy with the disjointed experiences that came with multiple vendors across multiple platforms.

CoinDCX were no exception – a large part of their choosing Plum wasn’t just the quality of benefits, but also the quality of experience.

“The execution was seamless, and the platform's intuitive design ensured a user-friendly experience for everyone. Our team members now have access to a wide range of health and wellness resources, all in one convenient location. This has not only boosted employee satisfaction but has also contributed to a healthier and more productive workforce.

Plum's commitment to prompt and efficient employee service has been exceptional. Their team is always responsive and ready to assist with any queries or concerns. This level of support has been instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition and high adoption rates among our employees.”

– Alan Fernandes, Director of HR Operations, CoinDCX.

A sentiment shared by employees too – kudos to the leadership for putting their team’s health first.

But it’s just not healthcare. CoinDCX actively invests in employee wellbeing, hosting their own initiatives.

Three initiatives that we’ve taken inspiration from:

  • A DYOB (Design Your Own Benefit) program, offering flexible benefits to help employees prioritize their perks, from gym memberships to pet care. 82% of employees have utilised this benefit.
  • Unlimited wellness leaves, allowing folks to go on breaks return refreshed, ready to build and grow with unlimited wellness leaves.
  • #CryptoNaari, a CoinDCX initiative designed to empower women changemakers in the web3 industry through a variety of wellness sessions.

This holistic approach to healthcare, couple with their talent first approach is what makes CoinDCX a member of The 2% Club, our community of companies going above and beyond for their employees.

With this, they’re not just writing India’s fledgling crypto story, they’re also crafting the country’s healthcare narrative this decade.

And we’re proud to be playing a small part in both stories.
